MONOBLOCO
Monobloco have built up a tremendous reputation and are now an integral part of Rio de Janeiro’s classical Brazilian street carnival culture, blending other Brazilian musical genres with samba. Their annual pre-carnival parties attract up to 4,000 people and their carnival parades involve up to 50,000 revellers. Monobloco features several percussion and rhythmic instrumentalists selected from the Carioca (native of Rio) music scene playing samba as well as more funky Brazilian arrangements.
